Hello All again,
Well, I got my neighbors tractor running really good (Thanks to all your help) Now, I took it down the road, under no load and all of the sudden, white smoke started coming out of the tailpipe. I then got it home, turned it off and noticed that the oil is fuller on the dipstick (appears Milky) and also, it appears coolant is in the carburator. What does all this maen? Bad Head gasket. I should also mention that this thing had set for 12 Years, before I started in on it. If it is the Head Gasket, what is the procedure for fixing this.
Thank You all in advance,
Rick

Rick...my '52 8N blew a head gasket last summer. The only symptoms I had was oil in the radiator. While I had the hood off, I had the radiator cleaned. I had the head checked for cracks, cleaned and milled. If you have it milled, make sure you have someone who is reputable do it. You don't want too much taken off...some say the valves may hit the head. Overall, the process was painless. She's running great now and the new power is noticeable. Good luck! RON

Sounds like your diagnosis is right on target to me. Not too much to changing the headgasket on one of these. Just drain the coolant, remove the head, clean up the gasket surfaces, install the new gasket and replace the head torqued to the correct specs. I like to use a sealer with the gasket but others may not agree. If the oil's full of water a fresh filter and new oil are in order too.
Good Luck, Lee
