I just bought a small cart to pull behind my Lawn mower or Golfcart. It has 480/8 wheelbarrow tubeless tires on it.I purchased 2 new ones from Walmart and had to cut the old ones off.I have cleaned the rims and repainted them.It appears that its going to be a pretty good job getting those new tires on the rims and them taking air quick enough to seal..Do any of you have any ideas or suggestions or proven tricks to get those things on...Thanks R.M. I use a ratchet strap around the tire, real easy to tighten up.

Hi R.M. I just found a way to do it on my own wheelbarrow. I wrapped a 1/2" rope around the tread of the tire and tied it as tight as possible. Then forced a bunch of wrenches between the rope and the tire thus tightening the ripe. It worked fine. good luck, it's about a 10" wheel..... .Jerry

Why deal with tubes or tubeless at all? My wheel barow tire was always going flat due to a bad tube. I just put an airless foam filled tire on and have been very happy with it. No more worry about punctures. I always turn it upside down when not in use to keep water from collecting and this also keeps the foam tire from any possibility of compaction. These oughta work fine on a small trailer.

Benn said before use tubes nd save yourself the grief. Until I put tubes in I had to carry the air tank constantly.

I quit wasting my time and put tubes in my wheelbarrows. Seemed every time I went to use one the tire was flat and hard to seat.

I always use soapy water to "soap-up" the bead. Use a piece of rope around the outside of the tire and tighten the rope with a stick, sorta like a tornique. As the tire accepts air and starts to seat the bead, loosen the rope.

Tubes do make life easier, though, especially if the load on the cart blows out the tire bead if the tire is a little low in air.

I took off the 36 inch belt holding my pants up and tightened it around the outside of the tubless tire, worked for me .

Ditto on te belt.. you beat me to it.

The belt works great, as it is flat, and helps spread the ire.. etc.

I use a band clamp -- band around the the tire and tighten her up until bead gets to rim, then blow like heck!!!

Just about every small tire I own has a tube in it. Got tired of screwing with them. Tubes are cheap compared to my aggravation!

AMEN to the tubes! Tubeless tires on wheelbarrows/lawnmowers etc. are worthless to me.
If you absolutely must go tubeless, here's a trick I saw on TV. Get the tube on the rim and take you a can of spray paint and spray some inside the tire and then do the old torch trick with the spray paint can. The Spray paint vapor inside the rim ignites and heats up the air in the tire, thus expanding it very rapidly and sealing the tire against the rim. The downside to this method is that it is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!! Sierously, don't try that at home, I just wanted to share how I saw someone do it on TV. Tubes aren't that expensive, and well worth the money in my opinion. Besides, if you do go tubeless, you'll need to be constantly fillling them in the winter time so they don't go flat and break the seal.

While I wholeheartedly agree with those who suggest tubes, the technique of seating beads with a gentle explosion can sometimes be a lifesaver. I've used it a few times when no other method could possibly work. Those who claim it is dangerous have never done it.

It isn't a method for little kids and old ladies but don't knock it if you haven't done it. Ether is my choice. The total force generated is less than the operating pressure for most tires.

Amen to tubes I use them in all small tires saves time and trouble in mounting them.

Run some baling twine around the center of the tire and snug it up compressing the uninflated tire on the rim. Add air.
