9N Generator Output

Still having problem with my charging circuit. I took the cover off of the cut out relay, and it was burned up. I then measured across the 2 wires on the output of the generator and got > 15 volts. I plan on having the generator tested tomorrow. Has anyone ever seen this before. I tried to turen the 3rd brush screw on the generator counter clockwise, but the voltage didn't change.

Any help would be appreciated

With the cutout being defective, and if it is not closing, then the only load of the generator is it's field winding. Replace the cutout relay. The generator needs the battery for a load to work properly.
