Hello Phil; Welcome to the wonderful world of N tractors! What Dell says. I don't remember if there were 8 or 16 different wheel spacings for the rear, but it was a bunch! I'll explain it to you this way: There is the rim, and there is the center disc. The section of the rim that bolts to the center disc is not in the middle of the rim. It is off-center, so you can put the flange of the rim on one side of the center disc (say, the outside) and have one spacing, but if you turn the rim around backwards (flip it around) you get another spacing! Then you can do the same thing on the INSIDE of the center disc for two more spacings (that makes 4 now). Here's the kicker....now try flipping the center disc over for another 4 spacings! When they would plow, a lot of guys would take the right rear tire and turn the center disc out so it would ride in the plow furrow but leave the left tire as it was. So you don't necessarily have to turn out both tires. You can do one if the need arises. Aren't these things just neat as can be?! And it's a whole lot easier to flip rims around than it is to unbolt a hub and try to slide it down an axle like on those *other brands*....(grin) HOpe that clears things up for ya!
