I posted a couple days ago about rebuilding a starter. Got some great responses. After taking starter to rebuild shop was advised that I could buy parts same price as rebuilder. He did tell me he was 95% sure problem was starter drive since it moves in both directions-rotates CW and CCW. Is the positive drive type the same as the clutch type starter drive. What is the one that needs the hole drilled in shaft called so I don't buy that one?

Rattsy..... ...positive drive is same as clutch drive and DOES NOT require a new locking pin hole to be drilled..... ...Dell
