Got a block that has to be cleaned up on top and at the manifold. Anybody have a print for an 8n block? How can you tell if there is enough stock for removal?

Rusty..... ...I'd be VERY CAUTIOUS about decking the the 8N block. 'cuz you just might take the topps of your cylinder liners off. Then they won't hold in place. The flathead is also somewhat limited to about 0.010" milling before the pistions start clackin' against the combustion chamber. Its good to ask. Its also good to explain why you think you haffta do a very rare machining procedure..... ....respectfully, Dell

You can cut the deck but be ready to work on the head. pistons stick out of the block and will hit the head. Been their done that. you may be able to use two head gaskets to get clearence with out grinding the chambers out in the head

Yes. If I have to cut the head and block on a nutt'er one i will have the rods reworked so I don't have to spend a day reworking the head.
