I have a 1940 9n.she runs strong but lately I `ve noticed shes smokeing a bit.I also found some oil in the rad.I`m guessing a head gasket but would like any info ya1ll could give me.I have to change axel pivot shaft & bushing tomarrow,so I`ll be tearing her down in the AM. thanks to all Al

The axle pivot pin for a 1940 is not available anymore, you can get the bushing, you can have a machine shop build up the shaft if it is worn.

Al..... ...yes, this is to confirm that the oily sheen you see floating on top of your radiator water is combustion by-products forcing past a weak headgasket seal. Time to replace. Torque headbolts to 70 ft/lbs, studnuts to 55 ft/lbs..... ....Dell
