Can someone suggest a source for a Funk 6 cyl carburetor. This one has been rebuilt/cleaned several times since the early 60's. I have tried most all of the local (Oklahoma City) resources. I did buy a 226 carburetor from Mac's Antique Truck Parts but it is too tall (6-1/4" vs. 4") and so the breather connections won't fit. It also only leaves about 2" of clearance to the hood. There is no tag and the casting stampings don't mean anything to the folks I have contacted. I can send pictures. Thanks.

okietip try Hemmings motor news, that is were I found the parts for my Funk carb, it is one of the early ones. It has Ford 7HTA in the casting, looks to be zinc\alum\potmetal. Best of luck! Matt

I believe that there were two styles of carbs used on the 226. The early engines used the taller one you bought, while the later ones, 1950 or so and after, used a shorter style. I don't have a specific source for a new one, but if you come up dry I might be able to come up with some numbers or applications that the carb was used on. Just send me an email.

I woes wondering on the funk conversions what kind of fuel system modification do you have to do to feed the carb? duos the sediment bowl knead to be spatial and where to get the spatial sediment bowl? I'm planning on putting a ford NAA fuel tank on my 63 4000 and woes going to use 8n fuel sediment bowl and am wondering if the stock sediment bowl will feed my 4cy 172 cid engine? The Resin for doing this is to have a more reliable fuel system (don't have to by new shut off valve every year and it will pay for it self ) and how reliable is the sediment bowl (shut off vale part) on the 8n's?

thank rod

Rod you may want to check for clearance between the tank and the engine first. I am not sure how much diff. there is between the 4000 tank and a NAA tank but on my 63 4000 there is not any room for a 8N bowl and valve between the tank and the engine. Greg NE

That is another thing that is on my list of thing to check out I think it will work but I'm not sheer if it will hit the rocker arm cover breather the bowl is right next to the breather. on the tank that I'm looking at the pick up is on the right corner of the tank thanks Greg NE for reminding me
