rear brakes for 8 N tractor

I need info on backing plates,all seals installation of complete brake system. should edges of b-plates be razor sharp, is this a bearing problem.also need expanded view of both rear brakes.any help would be appricated.

Sounds like you need an F0-4 service manual (available everywhere...check this site and/or Tractor Supply Co.) As for a detailed installation proceedure, check out the link below. The outter felt rings should not be sharp, but even if they are, I wouldn't worry about it. The inner ring does not rotate and the axle should not come near the lip. Perhaps it's just that that part of the brakes has never worn and has a "like new" edge on it.

rj..... .....the I&T FO-4 manual is available from sponsors of this great N-Board, most agricultural emporiums. Amazon.com, www.n-news.com hassem on sale right now plus a great archive of most of the 400 N-Ford 3-point implement manuals. My local (byte my tongue) John Deere dealers parts counter even has it on display for sale. Even most Ford/New Holland dealer sell it, isn't that amazing? $27 cheap. It evens has pictures, gittcha one..... ...respectfully, Dell
