I was planning on trying to repair this manifold after blasting it. Thought about trying some stuff from Eastwood called I think fire 2000. See the two holes, the biggest where the muffler attaches?

I wanted to save any original parts I could, but after reading the archives, sounds like I would be better off in the long run replacing it. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

Just last summer I popped a gasket on my 2N's manifold and being a weekend and parts hard to come by in this area I decided to give it a go with the mig welder. My gasket faces were gone in two areas. Welded, ground and sanded, the job worked just fine! However I did order a new manifold some months later and after a good amount of grinding with a die grinder around the stud areas I was finally able to get a socket on the installing nuts. This was a tisco manifold. Others have mentioned that they bought after market manifolds that were AOK and very original in appearence. I would opt for the new one for $50-60 if I were you. Maybe one of the persons that bought one of the better replacements will answer as to where it came from. Possible that mine was just a lemon, but after the grinding it works just fine.

There is an outfit I believe in Tenn. that makes very good manifolds. The outfit is called Vinson. I have one on my 2N. They make a variety of different manifolds.
