I use Spybot AND Spyware Blaster. Both do a fantastic job. Spybot cleans out stuff already there and Spyware blaster PREVENTS any additional stuff from being added. I highly recommend each one. Best of all, they're free!

This won't address you "spyware, cookies" problem but may be of interest. When I've been following the threads on the board for an hour or so my computer begins running slowly etc. When this begins to happen I go to the "history" file, usually found under "preferences" or "tools" and using "edit" menu > select all > delete, I clear out the "history" file. I also do this just before shutting down for the session. Doing this solves all my "running slow" problems until I've loaded up the file again. Go look at yours if you never have. You'll be amazed at how much stuff is in it, and you don't need any of it. I am using Netscape as a browser but all browsers have this capability. Computers !! What can we say. Used to build my own and write the programs to make them work way back when. Been playing with them since young Billy Gates was in knee pants and still haven't really got 'em all figured out. Frustrating but fun.

I use both AdAware and SpybotS&D. Sometimes one will catch something the other misses. No problems (yet) with either one. Running them when needed sure speeds up the 'ole 'puter.

I use both too...And then look for (and use) a small program called 'EasyCleaner'...Amazing all the useless junk left in your registry...
