Other than it looks good and more power to the PTO, why do people go to a 6cyl or 8cyl? I would like to have a locking differential for more traction when pulling a plow or snow plowing. I have AG tires that are loaded and use chains especially in the winter. I have decent power with the rebuilt flat head 4cyl.

Perry..... ...best guesses, there were about 250 dealer installed Funk V-8 conversions made, and about 6000 6 cyl conversions made, outta over 800,000 N-Tractors sold. So if'n ya really gotts yer heart set onnna V-8 conversion, best chit-chat with Ron Stauffer, he's got the necessary adaptors.

I once saw a N-Tractor with a German Mercury Cappri V-6 that was really neat because you didn't haffta lengthen the steering linkage or raise the hood to fit the carburator like you do for the Flathead V-8..... .....Dell

One of the nicest conversions I've seen was at a antique machinery show in Ct.

It was a custom 8N with a Ford 60 HP Ford flathead in it. Used the same radiator, hood stayed the same and used 2 standard exhaust pipes.

Supposedly the N engines are 1/2 of the Ford 60 HP V8
