Hello All again,
Last Week, I posted trying to figure out to get the Head off an old 8n, I was told to try soft rope as well as try to turn it over using all the plugs in the holes, none of this worked, anyone have any other idea's? I absolutely cannot figure this one out.
Help!
Thanks in advance,
Rick

When i was an apprentice mechanic this came up and i told a more experienced mechanic to put injectors back in holes and hit starter. The shop foreman threw a terrible anger fit and cussed me out for the idea. I do not know it it was a bad idea or he was just mad because the idea did not come from him. I had seen it done.

If you are doing the rope procedure, you need to turn the crankshaft with a breaker bar on the crankshaft pulley bolt. I don't think the starter will have enough strength and will probably stall.

I have been us'n this procedure for many years. Has always been successful for me. You do have all of the nuts or bolts removed from the head, right? Hope this helps.

Git yourself a fiting that'l screw into a sprk plug hole and put a air hose fittiing onna other end. keep a couple head bolts or nuts on loose, then try givven her a shot of high pressure air. Works fer me a coupla times. Ya might have to braze or solder up a special fitting Be careful.
