I just read a post about fuel lines and just noticed my line going from the shutoff to the carb is copper. Is this OK? It looks fairly new, so I don't know if they knew what they were doing or not.

Copper will do as a short term fix, but I wouldn't use it long term. Vibration of the line will cause it to work harden and crack. I wouldn't want a gas leak near a hot exhaust manifold. It would be "crispy critters" for your machine! Change it to steel as soon as feasable.

Copper is just fine. It will probably out last you.

RH-

It will be okay for awhile, but realize that copper and iron aren't really compatable metals.

Further, I believe copper tends to expand and contract more with heat and cold. just keep an eye on connections to avoid fuel line leakage.
