I'm helping someone rebuild the back end of his 8N and I think I've finally found the cam follower pin in the hydraulics. It is pretty worn(so is the cam) and I was wondering how you remove the pin so that it can be turned 180 degrees. Thanks, SAm in NS

Hi Sam,

As Steve said, brace the linkage in a vise or other suitable support and take a punch and a hammer and knock it out from the back side. It will come out. Put the new one in the same way. It is a tight fit but will go in.

The cam was warn on my 8N as well and I had it welded up with a nickle welding rod and ground it back to shape. My lift system works great. HTH. Rick H. Ga.

Brace that which hold the pin the best you can and tap it out with a punch and hammer. That's what I did. Gently, as I recall. Then getcha a new one like Jeb says. Steve 8N 169302

Don't worry about turning it. A new one is only like $2. You're going to need gaskets anyways, so just order a new pin when you get the new gaskets.
