Subject: Lights on Earth This is off the subject, but the following URL is an interesting picture of lights on earth from space. Check out this site. It is well worth looking at. See how many cities and islands you can identify! Besure and go around the world.

Enjoy,

I blame all the "light polution" on the lawyers.....

"Safety guru's" and statisticians can "prove" more light reduces accidents and crime.

Therefore, to prevent being found "liable" in a litigious society, a rational person could be persuaded to use more light for "safety's sake." And thus reduce his insurance costs and his chances of appearing in court or the hospital.

Just my warped opinion..... . Dell (WA)

Looks like ALASKA is the only place that has,nt been invaded by the yuppies and their night lights. I think there is too many people afraid of the dark, let the evidence show. I get up when it,s still dark every morning and look out at all the light pollution, thought about shootin em out, but pollution is necessary for civilization, I reckon. I would,nt mind Cal. wanting neighbor states to help with power supplies if they could just turn off all that glitter once in awhile. Until then I think they should learn to go to bed earlier.

i seen a similar pic before on light pollution. because of it,astronomers are having a harder time seeing the stars. some stars are no longer able to be seen because of it. no wonder know one can get a good nights rest and we pay a hideaous price for things at stores. does a mall that is closed at 10pm need lights on all night? and our city especially during big sports events has high rise office buildings leave their lights on so we will look like a city instead of hicks ,to impress visitors and national tv announcers, which proves to them we ARE hicks!!lol
