What is the difference in a 9n and a 2n. the serial number on my tractor is 9n109418 but when I look at the tractor resourse page that serial number looks to be a 2n. can anyone help me with this information.

Hi Philip, Both the 9N and 2N serial numbers begin with 9N. It has been my impression that the 2N was the war time model and was orginal shipped with steel wheels and a magneto. These were the big differences. The Smith page is the best resource for basic info about the N series that I know of. Here is the link in case you don't have it.

Both 9N and 2N serial numbers started with '9N'.
