I have a 48-49?? 8N that I have ressurrected and have been using around here with great results. Between the manual and this forum I have learned an awful lot, but there is a part on the ol' gal I don't understand. On the tractor where the upper turnbuckle attaches there are three points of attachment. The difference in angle adjustment seems almost negligible. I use a bushhog, boxblade and a scoop, are these adjustments for an attachment I simply don't have or am I missing the point?

The 3-hole attachment is for the draft control. Place the lever under the seat down (draft) and use the top hole for pulling a cultivator when a slight drag on the implement will activate the draft control mechanism. When plowing, discing, etc, use the bottom hole. Generally speaking, just use the bottom hole for everything. You might try adjusting the lever under the seat; it has a center scribe mark on it; loosen the 4 bolts, and tap it forward or backward as need be for adjustments. If that doesn't work, you can pull the top cover for some serious adjusting work per the FO-4 manual, or use Zane's jig (I've done it both ways; the jig is easier)

I forgot to ask this also. -- When my lift is at full UP -- if I manipulate the draft control juat a tiny bit -- I get a LOT more lift temporarily -- Normal??

I believe that to mean that you lift is not perfectly in adjustment.
