What kind of front pump do you use with that pulley in Bigdawg's photo?

I wouold be interested to know if it's a "side-moounted" "front pump" driven off of that pulley via belt.

Good luck with your FEL

This is an old picture. i have since replaced the hydraulic pump in the front. Pump mounts with two bolts. Shaft is 3/4" CCW I believe. The coupling in the middle has rubber bushings for flex.

I currently have the loader off for the winter. Pump comes off easy.

Ron, In addition to the already mentioned crank shaft pulley, You will probably want 16" tires on the front. You will need the stinger shaft that matches up with the pulley. It has four drive lugs on a flange THAT GOES BEHIND THE FRONT AXLE! Yup! you gotta undue your front axle to install it! It comes thru the crank hole and engages with the four holes in the new pulley. Also, you'll probably have sacrifice the side mounted lights. Nothing big! just a lot of little stuff you might not have planned on. This is what you'd have to do to install my loader on your machine, But mine's a Davis, not a Dearborn. HTH, Regards, Rich

You will need to install a new crankshaft pulley to drive the front mount pump.

You may have trouble getting the 1 5/16" nut off.

See Dell's "clothsline" rope trick in the archives.

Good Luck,

Doug - Is that loader a "Tru-Blue Implements" loader made by Burch Manuf?? It looks almost identical to the loader I have on My 8N. If so, it's the first time I've ever seen another one like mine and if you have any of the manuals or specs etc. I would like to purchase copies from you. I have done extensive searches on the Web for any info on those loaders and haven't found a single bit of info other than that Burch Manuf has been around since before 1900. Thanks for any info.

I think it is a Davis 100 loader. I have manuals for a Davis 100 and it looks like the one.

It works great if you take it easy. I moved over 100 yards of black dirt while puting in my lawn. Going to sell in the spring.
Thanks for the comments,

Doug

Mark - I've sent you two E-mails so far and neither has come back, but I haven't received any you have sent. Did you try more than once?? Please try again. I think my new ISP is screwed up because I know of one other E-mail which didn't come through and then later a second try worked. Probably going to change ISP's again sometime later this week. Will let you know if I do.

That FEL is exactly like the one on my 8N and I've never seen another. Very modern looking for a 1950 loader. Mine still has the origional double-acting hyd cylinders too. I sure hope that fellow answers my post about his. Later --

Toolman -- Here's what the ID Tag says on mine.

Burch Plow Works, Inc. manufacturers of
"True Blue" Implements
Evansville, Indiana
Serial # 45203

The origional paint is still mostly on it and it is painted "Blue" of course. The "stinger driven" front mounted Hyd. Pump - tag says:

Manuf By Wesbster (maybe Western??) Electric Co.
Model 3HCS-8L
Serial # 42719 A7 W

The hyd. pump has a big flat oil filter attached to it made by :

Char-Lynn
Model 240

That's it, don't know anything about it other than what the tags say and that it is sure built hell-for-stout. Tried looking for info on the web a bit but could only find that Burch Manufacturing has been around since before 1900. Good Loader.
If you find out anything please let me know.

I think it is a Davis 100. I have a manual and it sure looks to be the Davis 100.

There is a ID plate that is painted over. I may be able scrape the paint off, once the weather warms up.
