Were can a guy find copper cored wires off the self? I read about guys soidering the tips and making there own...I would like to buy some pre-made. Did all old tractors use 6 volt systems with copper wires? I have an IH dealer fairly close by. However, CarQuest is closer.
Thanks,
Allen

Local carquest had them. Ask for four cylinder industrial wires. Anything you can find generic at a car parts house is likely to be cheaper than a tractor dealer.

Your mileage may vary

Tractor supply, NAPA, I think Auto Zone, New Holland dealers, (probably most tractor dealers), Easy way -- look to your left under Market place - tractor parts.

You can get the cooper wire from tisco cheap. You have to do a little cutting and clipping. Went to New Holland and the sold me a set of fiber cores for about $25. Of course I quickly threw them in the trash. Kind of rude for them to take advantage of a newbie. Have not been back to new holland. Think you can get the tisco set at Yesterdays Tractors.

Allen..... ...'bout the ONLY place that I know that you can get "pre-made to length" sparkie wires is at N-Tractor parts specialists. They're not cheap. Thats why everyone uses regulare generic coppercore sparkie wires and cut to length upon installation. It's really not rockett science and you really don't haffta solder the distributor nipple ends, just stick about 3/8" bare wire thru the clamp-on brass end terminals and yer good to go.

Altho personally, I'd solder them, but if'n yer soldering challenged, won't hurt to install un-soldered..... ....Dell
