I have an oil leak around the throttle control shaft of my governor. The parts book only shows a dust seal on this shaft, so I ordered one from Don. The problem is I can't get the shaft out. The yoke on the inside is pinned and you can't get a straight shot at it to knock the pin out. Anyone ever removed the throttle shaft from the governor?

The pin is tapered, and it will line up through the oil coupling hole so you can tap it out.

I recently replaced the bearing and seal in my 8N and had to remove the throttle shaft. The pin you refer to is tapered with the thick end to the inside of the housing. My assembly is the type with an oil line going to the back of the governor and I was able to drive the pin out the threaded hole where the brass oil fitting elbow screws into. To reassemble, I had to reach into this hole with a pin punch and seat the tapered pin through the hole with a bit of red Loctite.

Hope this helps.
