All- Ponder the following personal observations.

About 225 years ago or forefathers saw it wise and paid the price in blood and lives to get rid of the Brits from here.

About 180 years ago our forefathers had to do it again, when the Brits attacked and burned our nation's capitol.

Twice during the 1900's our young men went to Europe to save them sorry a$$ed people over there from themselves. We again paid a huge price in blood, lives, and money!

Sadly, some of our politicians and military leaders seem crave excitement by getting entangled in European affairs. Pay, promotions, career progression, medals & awards etc., plus big bucks to our military industrial complex and a mind bending national debt... Moths drawn to a flame!

OK, OK, we're haggling and working hard, as we should be, to pull our act together here in North America. NAFTA has lots of critics and the day to day operation of it is gonna require lots of work to get it right. But, we must do it because we are "cheek to jowl" with our neighbors and we have more common interests than differences.

As to Europe... They never have been able to get along amongst themselves! The European Economic Community (EEC) seems to be under plenty of stress from their old antagonisms.

My recommendation is to tell the Brits to get their act together with the rest of Europe, help settle the place down, and then forget about getting their camel nose in the North American tent!

At the business level, there is plenty of good activity between UK firms and US firms on both sides of the pond. It is growing and both sides are benefitting. So, let's not allow the politicians to screw things up for everybody! See the link below for some realistic political views on all this. IHank

Is NAFTA a kind of tractor?

I don't know much about NAFTAs but I hear those UKs run forever.

Snowplow, NAFTA is not a tractor, it's just an expression like; "we'll drink some beer an NAFTA that we'll work on the tractor" (sorry Dave#1)
