Has anyone had any experience with or obtained information about the "new USA-made cast iron" replacement carbs for sale through some parts catalogs? I'm thinking about making the purchase, but I hate being a guinea pig! Thanks much.

Interesting you should ask -- I just this weekend put a reproduction TSX428 in my Jubilee. Yes, it's a little quirky, and yes, the plastic venturi is an inexcusable bit of cost-
savings, but once adjusted it makes my engine start and run better than my old carb did no matter how many times I took it apart and replaced things. (Actually, it started and ran at least as well as the old one, fresh out of the box without adjusting!)

Quirks: It seems to run best with the main screw practically all the way in. I can't get a good idle below 500-550 rpm (apparently common with reproduction carbs), but I never could before, either. And it shifts with a jolt from idle to main -- the original carbs often do this, too, but the new one is more sudden than I'm used to.

The archived messages on this board complaining about reproduction Marvels often mention "Chinese junk", but since mine is labeled "Made in USA" I assume it's from a different manufacturer. It seems to be a nice piece of hardware, apart from the plastic. I can't speak for the TSX33/241 replacements, which seem to cost less than the 428's.
