Yes, sir,That detailed rundown should be what I need. Have to be out of town for a few days, and I'll tackle it when I get back. You say a wire goes to one terminal on the ampmeter and out the other.Isn't that the way it was on the old loop ampmeter terminal? I got the new type. However, remember a poet by Dell on wiring to that new ampmeter, so if I can find it, all is well. And, Dell, in spite of my failing syesight, it sure nuff looks like a 5 as well as an s.

As soon as the wiring is competed, I will put on a new radiator.I was tryiing to put the hood back on by myself and somehow poked a hole in it.So,; got a new radiator coming.Paid $850 for this 8N which was running pretty good before I decided to restore it. So, guess I can afford to spend a few bucks on it.

Thanks for the help!

On the old ammeters.. the wire merely passed thru a loop on the back of the meter and exited.. on the new ammeters.. you have to cut the wire.. atatch one side to one terminal, and the other side of the wire.. to the other terminal. If you wire it backwards.. it will show charge on the negative side.. easy to reverse.. just swap wires on the back of the ammeter.

What I wrote out was basically a step by step off of that wire diagram.. so you can print them both and refer to either when wireing. The only part I changed was the lighting. The diagram shows the liht runn off the ignition switch.. this isn't the generally accepted way to do it. Instead i am running the light off of the hot third lower terminal on the block..

good luck.. email us if you need further info.
