I hit a hidden object ( BIG LOG ) in the tall grass. Now I have a loud knock in the bell housing and the Sherman over under will not shift except into neutral. No noise with clutch disengaged. Is there anything to check before I split the tractor? Thanks, Allen.

How's the log?

(couldn't resist!)

Sounds like you bent/broke something in the drivetrain (how's that for stating the obvious?). Could you maybe pull the starter and look through the hole with a bright light? Maybe pull the top cover (with gearshift) and take a peek before splitting the tractor?

The log is now in a better place. BURNED IT ha ha
I think I will look in the starter hole and shift cover before I split it. I just got a bad feeling the nose broke off my sherman. The knocking seems to be comming from there and it has been broken before I got it and welded. Thanks for the input, Allen
