this past weekend, Classic Tractors has an antique tractor pull and parade with some N's in it.

Two things of note were ....

I thought I read here that N's usually did poorly in pulls. They did well in this one. At least average (150% or so).

Also, the parade has a "homebuilt" V8 converted-8N. Not a funk.

It's not available on C-Band. Just Dishnetwork.

check out their website. rfdtv.com

Rob, I was at a show in Phoenix yesterday, may be
same one you saw on TV

"Also, the parade has a "homebuilt" V8 converted-8N. Not a funk."

Saw the V8 8n Purrrr but not up close. Another Guy had a 6 cyl (OH) Funk with sherman over & under, claimed it would go 85 MPH on open road

Guy selling a 47 8n for $3,750. Only one of
4 9N's painted correct Color.

Good Show!

Rob, Not bragging about my abilities because I didn't do anything special to it, but the '46 2N
I restored for my father 2 years ago has been pullin' 2 seasons now, several pulls, won it's share, but NEVER done worse than 3rd against BN,s
AC B's, JD M's and MT's and the sort!!!! It's "box stock". New tires last weekend though, may hurt us a little this year. Gotta have him go out and road it alot before the pulls start!

I know that HORSETV is on the DishTV for folks to watch with DishTV recievers with the same programs as you are decribing. But I have a Direct TV set up a;nd can't get HorseTV. What systems are this RFDTV on and what is the channel number? Thanks.

RFDTV is on Dishnetwork on transponder 9409 I have seen a couple of the classic tractor shows and they are good, unfortunatly the scheduling is sporadic and does'nt match the guide quite often.

Greetings:
I think the N series would probably do OK in tractor pulls with other tractors of similar weight and horsepower. If you are comparing to tractors with 50 hp and about double the weight, then they are probably not so good. I have taped a couple of RFDTV segments on tractors, they are neat. I don't distribute them, they have them available to buy, I tape things to watch again later, or in case I have to run out and do something. This is a fairly new channel, and it has a lot of other stuff on it that is kinda neat, also, like other old equipment and even working scale models of old equipment and implements. Lots of horse stuff, too.
