I have my 47 2N apart to replace the carrier, pinion, and bearings. While it is apart I will take the pump apart and change the old gaskets. No sealer on pump for sure. My friend says to apply a locktite sealer to the lift cover gasket to make it seal better. I say to put it on with out any thing. Will the locktite sealer make the lift cover more likely to leak or not.

My vote is go without. The only place there is any pressure is where the tube mates to the top cover. Aside from that I think you would have to turn the tractor on it's side to get any leakage! I bought a new top cover gasket about 3 top cover removals ago and still have not replaced it as I'm not convinced I've got the linkage tweaked enough yet. Till then or till it blows at the tube I'm leavin' it. Have never used any sealant.
