I have been reading for some time, but, this time I have a problem. 1941 9n, back in Dec I bogged in a snow drift while plowing. It got wet. Got it started after 15-20 minutes. Next day it started hard, but, started. Two days later it didn't start and hasn't since. I've put in new plugs gap 25, new points gap 15, new condenser, new copper wires, new cap,new rotor and new coil. Checked the resistor, 6 volts on both sides with points open, 3 volts on the coil side with points closed. I checked the timing today and it in right on.measured tang to hole and a quarter inch difference on th opposite side. What am I missing?
This has a 6 volt system and is not a conversion. I've had this tractor 12 years and have never had any problems. It's a new one on me.

With what you wrote, you failed to mention if you have spark.

Spark and fuel should make her go.

Art..... ...if'n it don't fire on ether quick-start, then its usually the sparkies. Will your sparkies jump a 3/16" gap with blue snott authority? Take an old sparkie and bend the side electrode for a real 3/16" gap and see if'n yer sparkies sparkle blue snott.

The other thing that an engine needs to run is COMPRESSION at the right time. Do the DREADED compression test, Ford specs: 90 psi min (dry). If'n you don't get min comp spec, then time to squirt 1-oz of oil down the sparkie hole to seal the rings. And do the 5-puffs compression test AGAIN. Good engines +10 psi increase; tired engines +20 or more psi increase; NO INCREASE burned valves, blown headgasket, or slipped bakelite timing gear..... ....Dell

Before the dreaded compresion test, I today decided to pull it down the road with a chain. It fired up and belched black smoke. I guess the battery wasn't turning it over good enough or the cylinder was coated with fuel. It's been running great all day. Thanks to all for the support, help and info.
