I got my valve springs today, had to buy 4 of them but hey now I have spares,, I also got the retaining locks, my question is , the new locks look totally different from what I took out, I think,,,as they were busted up pretty good, but the originals looked like washers sort of,, the new ones are 2 halves that make a cone shaped piece,, they stood by there answer that this was a new style, any body out there run into this?,btw this is a TO30 z129 engine.thanks pat

Don't know about Fergie tractors but this has been the common keeper in most auto engines for years. The conical halves are larger toward the top of shape and make for great keepers except at super high RPMs with single springs. This shouldn't be a problem with tractors unless you do world class tractor pulling!LOL
