I am reading contradictions I think. I read "trickle charge" and then "6v Crank" and sparking. 1. As posted by Dave and roger, + to + and - to - regardless of how it is hooked up in the equipment. You are charging the batt, not running the equip. 2. Safety 1st, so as mentioned, no sparks. Best way to do that is to insure your charger is unplugged before hooking up to and removing from the batt. 3. I assume your spark came from an energized charger, with the 50 amp (100 amp on 6 v) button in the on position and the minute you got the second lead on the batt it delivered what you told it to....50 amps. DON'T do that. You will make a very bad mess for you and your equip. 4. Trickle charge is on the order of 1 amp or slightly higher with preferably a very accurate voltage monitor in the charger that knows when your batt drops 0.2 v or so and kicks the 1 amp back in and out as the voltage fluctuates. So 4 2N, with that said did we answer your questions or are we on different sheets of music? txblu
