Rotor loose NAA

I notied that the rotor on my Jubilee was rather loose (rotationally about 20-30 degrees on dist shaft)after Henry started running rough under load. I had my wife pick another rotor and a dist cap up at the parts store. New rotor is loose as well. I managed to jam some thin plastic between rotor and dist shaft and got it to run, but I am thinking either I lost something or rotors weren't correct. Is the rotor/cap the same for 8N as NAA? The one I am using has a D shape to match supposedly the flat milled on the end of the shaft. Did I loose something like a spring clip to go in between shaft and rotor? Not quite sure how it was running now. I could "set" the rotor to one extreme or the other and ol boy just wouldn't hit. . so now he is jammed about 10 degrees CCW from the extremes and seems to start and run OK albeit with a little hesitation when applying load. Any help would be appreciated.

some of those old disb rotor shafts had a sort of spring clip on them that would hold the rotor tight, find a new holland dealer and they should be able to fix you up
