Has anybody used a Tisco valve? Are they good? They are 1/2 price of Fords valve. And in stock.
Just curious.

Yep, I've used them. Like the others mentioned you need to tighten things up before you just put it on. I've had trouble with the cork bowl gaskets leaking no matter how tight I crank them down. A NAPA neoprene replacement takes care of the cork gasket problem. The NAPA number for the bowl gasket is 730-9506. You'll probably need the number because otherwise the guys at NAPA probably won't have a clue.
Good Luck, Lee

Installed one just a couple of days ago an a freshly restored 8N. It leaks from the auxilery port and already messed up the paint job!!!!! I'm going to New Holland to spend $ for a GOOD one. Still learning that you need to buy BETTER stuff for some aplications. My 2 cent worth. Jason Grooms

What Mike OH, said.
I've replaced several shut offs over the years on various N's. My first one leaked like you said. I lost the knob, and half a tank of gasoline. I went back to the (then) Ford dealer. Boy, embarrased! They are all assembled like that. The packing nut for the valve, the knob screw, the plug for the unused gasline feed and the blub bail must be tightened. I've got to say they treated me good and replaced it for free (that is, no $).

Jag, you might just find the valve you get from the NH dealer is the Tisco valve. I don't know why, but all of the new valves I've come in contact with have the aux plug loose and have leaked. It's a good idea to apply a little sealer to the threads of the aux plug before installing on the tractor. If it were mine, I'd just seal it and tighten it up and use it. Don't think you'll find much difference, if any, in the two valves. Just my 2 cent.

Guys this thing leaked after tightening every thing plus it DOES NOT shut the fuel off like it should. Haven't taken it apart yet but the last 8N I restored 6 months ago, I got the valve from New Holand and it was made just like the original (there is a difference)--(maybe your dealer is selling tisco parts as OEM ?)plus had NO problems out of it.Time is worth money and its not worth REBUILDING a new part.Hope this helps someone. Thanks agin, Jason Grooms
