I also would like to put the wider tires on My 2N. If I did would I need to convert over to a 8N type. Which would be 1.- 8N hubs. 2. 8N spindles.
3.- 16 inch wheels and tires. 4.- What else?
5.- I am guessing that the spindles from a 8N would bolt right up? Is this correct? If not I need to know for sure or its a waste of time to try. Thank You for Your suport. Mr. Edd

Like Waterboy I have the opposite situation. My 2N had a loader that was removed. I'd like to have the stock wheels and tires back so she steers easier. I'm in Minnesota and would swap as well.

Philo: They look to have the original center section, welded to the outside of a 15" rim. Tires are 8.45x15. Email me and I can send some pics.

I have a 52 8N, that had a loader on when I bought it. The 8-N had the wide tires on ford car rims. They fit good and are in excellent shape. I'd be willing to trade for the your 19 inch if yours would fit on my 8-N. I live in Michigan, were are you? e-mail me if interested.

Had you said 8n or NAA it would have been easy.. TSC and many dealers sell a 16" implement rim that bolt right up and accepts a 6.xx16 tire.

You can join the list of people looking for 16" rims for those wide 9n/2n front hubs.

Every now and then you here a rumor or story about someone who has found a set on ebay, etc.

Many people change to 8n front spindles and hubs for this reason.. or try to find a car rim and or car hubs that they can swap over.. I think the going deal is that some model of a mercury from the mid to late 30's hubs will swap over.. letting you then use those associated rims.

I think I would opt to cut the center out of my 19" rims and weld them into a readily availably 16" rim or rim blank, rather than modifying my otherwise good condition oem front hubs.. ( unless your hubs are on the way out anyway.. then you could solve two problems at once and swap..??)

If you do find a source for 16" rims that fit the wide 9n/2n hub.. let us know..

Good luck

Sounder, My '41 9N has 5 bolt 6"X16" wheels on the front that look OE and show no evidence of having been cobbled together. Either there is some make and model of car (or whatever)wheel that fits or somebody made 'em that size once upon a time.
I am in South America at the moment and my tractor is in Montana or I'd post some photos of them (not that that would help anybody find any like 'em). I think they are dandy for most purposes (even though I don't have a loader) being heavier and meatier than the 4" ones, so sorry, no, I don't care to trade. Next chance I get I will look them over carefully to see if there are any markings on them.

Cool. If you can find marking.. perhaps we can chase down a source.. It is also possible that maybee somewhere in time.. somebody did make a car rim that fit oem.. with no mods.. would be nice to find that..
thanks
