Hello all, I have been lurking here on this wonderful board for years...Just to let evreyone know yall have helped me through brakes, 12 volt conversions, tune-ups and even the rebuilding of my transmission. Just by reading the archives and hanging out "listening" to yall. But I need help for my in-laws 8N. The steering on that thig is HARD. And I mean I have a hard time turning the steering wheel. Is this just a bushing replacment job or what???? I always search the archives...but I really have not found what I am looking for. Any sugestions???

Stu - Just my experience - There is a bearing between the top of the steering column tube and the steering shaft. Mine had disintegrated over the years and the shaft was no longer centered in the tube. Consequently as the shaft turned it rubbed the inside of the tube eventually wearing the tube thin at one pint in its rotation. A new bearing fixed the problem and made the entire assembly easier to turn. HTH
