I got a 12v coil. Do I keep the resistor on the terminal block or bypass ? Would that keep it from starting if I kept it or fry my coil if I removed it? ?

Also, does the condensor have to be a 12volt ? Some body here said youdont even need a condensor to start just to protect the points.

AL, You need the condensor! without it most of your
hi-voltage (ultrahigh without condenser) won't make it to the sparkpugs.

If the current on your ammeter without the Ballast
is about ~ 5 amps. (points closed) You will be OK
