Posted two pictures of my 16 inch wheels with just a basic primer job on them in Parts & Pieces. Are they kind of rare ?? Don't want to sell, but wonder what they would be worth ?? Sam in CA

Sam,

If you check real close, I think you`ll find FIRESTONE and a date stamped inside those rims.
I`ve seen several 9n and 2n tractors with those wheels on them. They might have been an option on new tractors. let us know what you find.

Tom: After having them sandblasted, I looked them over very carefully, even put my glasses on, and couldn't find any markings or lettering at all.

Sam, We have 3 pair of them. 2 pair are factory made, by who I don't know. And the 3'rd pair is a set we made from 16 x 4 wagon wheels that we welded the centers of 19 inch 9n wheels in. Cutting the centers down and getting them centered in the rim was the hard part. People have said I was nuts for ruining 19 inch rims, but when the valve stem hole is rusted out they aren't good for much. Besides you can buy reproduction rims fairly cheap. As far as rarity of the 16 inch 9n rim, I've seen a few. I think they are probably an after market rim, I don't beleive ford offered them on 9n's as a option. John
