Like Dell mentioned.. probably the bendix hanging in the flywheel.. for whatever reason.. ( could be any of the things Dell mentioned ).

Next time it hangs.. put tractor in high gear, and grab onto the rear tires and rock the tractor vigorously back and forth and see if that makes the bendix pop free... Just a tad easier than pulling the starter... however.. ya still gotta find out why its doing it. When you pulled the starter in the past.. was the ring gear ok?

Piro..... ..whats amatter? Don't like the suggestion that your starter's flywheel ringgear might be buggered up?

Well, howbout a bent starter drive shaft? Howbout a buggered starter bendix drive? Howbout a WRONG starter bendix drive?

You don't give me much to demonstrate my amazing psychic powers. I flunked mind reading, just ask my ex-wife..... ....Dell
