hello all, I just wanted to share a way to chain these babies down, I have been in trucking for years , including car hauling, I have hauled a little of everything, trucks, tractors, tanks, even some army cannons, I always chain front and back and pull them against each other, it is the easist and safest way I have found, I have traveled millions of miles and never a lost item,,I have always had luck with this technique, and it requires either chains and binders, or nylon straps, either work just as well, it is a preferance. I am not saying that you can have not enough straps\chains but front and back work just as well, I usually put a safety chain hooked seperate from the main tie down, this does not have to be bindered tight , it is there just in case a chain\strap fails.
I have tried to put up a few pictures of the 2 recently hauled tractors, these were chained the front axle to the tie downs, and the rear tractor had its rear axle chained to the rear tie downs, the 2 tractors were chained to each other just rear axle to front axle with chain on both ends{one chain using the seperate clevis's)this is just my 2 cents, lets all be safe out there , but it is not rocket science tying these down, BTW my 11 yr old did most all the hooking and binding with me overlooking and this rode 300 miles home with never a chain needing retightening,, thanks pat

here is a picture of the rear tie down, it would be the same as the front, I go on the inside of the steering arms, You have to be careful and check to see that you dont bend anything or damage the radiator if the chain
strap slips a bit,pat

BTW the trailer is not low in the rear I am backed up to a knoll, This rode great no sway or troubles, even found myself over 65 a few times,, was hauled with a 2000 F250 w\V10
