I replaced the lower link pin on my 47 2n. When I pulled the rear end it had chiped teeth and one gone. Got a good used one and pinion gear to match it. Cleaned the housing out replaced the bearings, pump gaskets, and relief valve. put it all back together rear end workes good with no noise. Before the pump was strong and smooth. Now it shakes when it lift any thing. It is not as strong as it was before. The lift will hold a box blade up a week and not drop any. I am going to pull the pump and take it all the way apart to see if any thing is in the valves. Any holes or ports I can't see with it apart. Any help will be appreciated.

Check the relief valve before you take it down by having a heavy implement on it and then placing a finger over the end of the relief valve. If it is leaking you can feel it push you finger off. Makes it feel really slick on the end of the relief valve. Of course I don't recommend putting a finger into the moving parts of the pump. May bite you!

Also it could have gotten some grit into the ram cylinder and it is holding the rings open and or cutting grooves in the bore of the ram cylinder.

I had one a few weeks ago that the lift would not come down. The control valve was not sticking and had full range of motion. I finally pulled the pump and drove the control valve bushing out of the pump housing and found little particles of plastic blocking both the ports of the control valve bushing that exhausts the oil when in the down position. No way that could ever have been fixed without pulling the pump and the bushing.

When you get it out, pull the valve chambers off, dissasemble, and clean everything up good. You probably ingested a little hunk of crud into the pump and have got a valve hanging open.
