In the 9N governor reservoir, what wt. oil should a guy use - 30w non-detergent? I would assume that when changing out the governor I should drain all that oil also. Roger

Roger..... ...unless you have a VERY EARLY 9N, the governor is lubricated by the oil drain from the oil filter canister.

And iff'n you really do have the early 9N un-lubed governor, which is actually ineffectively splash lubed by the crankshaft oilslinger with engine oil, recommend you consider the merits of a field retrofit to the later governor oil scheme by re-plumbing the oilfilter drain to a NEW GOVERNOR CUP..... ....Dell

Thanks, Dell. That's what it is doing, getting oil from the filter cannister. After posting this it all dawned on me. I'm just slow - and stupid. Thanks for putting up with this ol' dummy. Roger
