Well after all the initial work reported eariler, I started to look into the wiring to determine why it would not start.
I failed to mention that the unit was running on a 6volt coil I had in the barn before converting to 12volts. The 12volt coil was bad so I replaced it with the old 6volt. It was running great until the lake adventure.
Today started early and did the following:
-checked voltage at coil on distributor and nothing. Remove the coil from distributor and reads normal. (strange)
-replaced ballist resister last week, and replaced the other one today. Still nothing.
-got in trash can and found old 12volt coil that was replaced with the 6volt coil, installed, and it kicked right off. It would only run at idel.
-Went to New Holland and bought a 12volt coil and it runs "GREAT"
Thanks everyone for the help

Amazing machines, aren't they? Congratulations on getting her running again. Now you know you can take her swimming anytime you want :) Maybe even the beach!!
