After many people telling me waht they thought was a fuel delivery problem that I couldn't figure out..and numerous carb teardowns, I finally found that the distributor had moved(timing). The tractor would start, run fine for a minute, skip sputter stall. The chain of events happen like this..the engine starts with retarded timing, wich was actually advanced in my case, then the governor tries to bump the timing when the rpms increase. this is where the timing is too far and stalls out the engine. A quick fix that is hard to diagnose! hope this solves some frustration...Ross

Ross -- Thanks for getting back with what you found to be the problem. Sometimes it's not the obvious. Another lesson all can profit by. Good job of figuring it out.
