Good morning. I finally have the tractor shoveled out and clear of snow. I need some advice on removing a Dearborn loader.

Just want to check in and see if I have this right before I ask the neighbor to come down the road with his tractor and front loader.

Remove the 1-1/16" nuts and bolts that hold the rear loader brackets, remove the front bracket and front pump bolts, back the tractor out with the aid of an overhead lift by steadying the Dearborn loader and backing the tractor out? Is this the correct procedure?

Is it possible to do this another way without the aid of the neighbors front loader? I do not have an overhead beam or or other device as I am working in the open air.

I plan to put it aside and sell it, as I have a line on a 1955 Ford step-through loader

thank you in advance. 9N'er.

in spite of it's limitations, it stillbeats a wheelbarrow!

and I am still amazed at what the darn thing can lift and carry. It does look like a Jungle Jim! Or, in this world of gender parity, "Jimstress!"

I have a loader on my '48 8N. I remove the 4 bolt at the axle, remove 2 bolts that connects the pump to the crank, and remove the 2 bolt that hold the pump to the bracket. I don't remove the bracket. I have 2 tall saw horses that I put on each side of the tractor that I put a 10' pole across. I tie the loader to the pole, then lift each side of the pole and slide a 2x4 under the pole. This gives me enough clearance to back the tractor out from under the loader. It's easy. The hardest is getting the 4 bolts off the back.
