I'm having a problem with my Ford 9N. I have replaced the coil, bought a new tune-up kit with all the fixings, new cap, installed new wires, plugs, and even bypassed the ignition switch. I set the point at .015". Installed it and nothing. What am I doing wrong? I can't get a spark on the plugs at all.... Please help!

I WOULD MAKE SURE YOUR NEW COIL IS GROUNDED PROPERLY. MY BROTHER PUT A NEW COIL ON BUT THE PAINT WAS SO THICK THAT THE COIL DIDNT GROUND IN THE HOLDER.IF YOU CRANK ON THE ENGINE AND PUT A TEST LIGHT ON NEG SIDE OF THE COIL AND THE LIGHT FLASH AND THE COIL DOESNT FIRE I WOULD CHECK THE GROUNDING OF THE COIL.

Try stretching the spring pig tail wire on the bottom of the coil.

Check voltage at the top of the coil.. should be batt volts w/ points open.. and 3ish volts points closed... if there is no change.. points aren't opening and closing.. and thus no sparks..
