Could someone tell me the length of the top link at it's shortest and longest? I want to get a cylinder to go in where the top link fits and I forgot to measure it this weekend. Thanks.

Richard;
I did a bit more measuring and this is what I came up with. The hydraulic top link now is 21" center to center. The cylinder I used is an 8" stroke and a 2"bore. In theory that should give me a range of lengths from 21" to 29". I also measured the offcut from the ram and it was 2". The 23.50" top link length I mentioned in the previous post is the length at which the bottom of my dirt scoop sits parallel with the ground. By shortening the top link I am hoping that I can get enough tilt in the scoop to avoid dribbling the load out in the journey from A to B-much the same way a front bucket is tilted back. Hope this is what you require. Cheers, Erik

Richard;
I just made these measurements on my tractor, I'm sure there are some minor variations from impliment to impliment. My tractor is a '53 Jubilee and from the center of the hole on the rocker to the center of the mounting hole on my dirt scoop is 23.5" I ended up having to shorten the cylinder ram by about 1-1/2" in order to get that closed measurement below the 23.5" as I want to be able to tilt the scoop back a fair amount and the only way to do that is to shorten the top link.I also had to compensate for the extra length incurred by welding on a ball link on the end of the ram. Hope this helps.
Cheers, Erik

Erik, do you mean the 23.5" length is the shortest you had to go? That would mean the longest was probably another 8" or 10" or so right?
