Where?? I didn't see any retainer clip?? Just a round cone thing and something going thru the middle to hold it on. Real technical aint I. I need to know how to get that center piece out that is holding it on?? By the way you guys were right on the money about the thrust bearing failure. I only found a few pieces of the top one. The bottom one looks good but I want to replace it anyways while I'm there.

Thanks
Rob

The one I have off is worn the same way, like you i am going to replace the lower bearing to, but it does look good, may just talk myself out of it. see to many new bearings go bad. I was thing of taking a tap and screw it in their and pry it loose., Thanks Don B

Hi Don
I just got off the phone with the local dealer. He is a real nice older guy that treats us younger guys, 40ish, like we were his own. I had my wife drop off the steering shaft so he could replace the bearing cup in the bottom. I guess she mentioned that I was trying to figure out how to remove the bottom bearing and he just shook his head and called me on the phone to see what I needed. Well, I got my stern lecture about replacing parts that were not bad. He told me if it's not bad don't mess with it!!! He said he can not understand why us younger guys always want to fix something that is not bad. hahhahah He is right though so I decided to leave it and just fix the top. I kind of hope the bottom goes bad so I can take it back and show him. But it will probably out last me. hahaha
Cheers
Rob
