'39 9N No Spark at plugs.....?

I have a '39 9N, 6 volt, positive ground. I have new plugs in it, the dist. cap is fairly new along with the rotor button. I am not sure how old the coil is, by the looks of it, fairly recent as well.
I had carb problems with it and the tractor sat for about 6 months before I could fix it. Now, I have no spark at the plugs. I thought that maybe the points were burned so I invested in the new electronic ignition system and still have no fire.

I am not sure what to check next and I am having a hard time tracing wires because the tractor was painted with all the wiring installed so it's all red.

I would appreciate any and all help.

Thanks,
Drew

Just wanted to say thanks for the responses to my question.

Dell... the new ignition is just that, new.... it just came out for 9N with 6V pos. ground.

I have been considering a new wiring harness because yes, the tractor was running fine electrically when I had the carb problems 6 months ago.

I am starting to suspect the coil but I need to get home and check voltages.

Thanks again!

Drew

Drew..... ...CAUTION: most electronic ignitions are designed for 12 VOLTS negative ground. You say you have a 6 volt positive ground system. Your electronic ignition may NOT WORK..... ...Dell

Start with a new 15$ wire harness.

Hi Drew. Did it run 6 months ago after fixing the carb? Suggest you follow the electric from the battery all the way to the plugs. Clean all the connections and check the current at each connection. Where it stops is your problem. The new paint job may have corroded some or many connections.Good luck. Ron

Did it run after the 6 months delay and you fixed the carburetor? I don't know squat about electronic ignitions on Ns, but I you still need power from the battery to what used to be the top of the coil. It's the red wire (VBG)from the ballast resistor to from coil/elec ig. it's the only wire in the area. (My wires are all black and I can trace them with my fingers as needed, there ain't that many.) With points, you should have 6 or 3.5 volts there depending if points are open or closed. Sorry I can't be more help. The search engine at the top of the page will lead you to a 6V wiring diagram. Good luck. Steve 8N 169302
