Zane: Ever since reading your recent post on three hole rocker pitfalls, I decided to look for an older single hole rocker. I just got one on ebay! Are there any tricks or shortcomings to avoid when making the swap? I am assuming that the parts are interchangable or am I incorrect there?

Yes they are interchangable but their is one big draw back to the idea of changine them out.

You are probably going to have one heck of a time getting the old pin out of the housing on the top of the differential housing. If it were me I would not even try to change them if the pin does not come out with striking it with a hammer and a drift.

What I would have done would have been to put a couple of bolts into the two top holes if you think someone other than your self might be going to inadvertently use one of the top holes.

Changing that think out can be a major can of worms!

If you don't mind needing to paint it afterwords, why not put a little weld bead in the top two bores?
It would effectively block their use, but later if need be someone could grind it out if the tractor moved to sandy soil...

My 3-hole rocker had rusted tight and wouldn't move. I had to take a torch to get it off and destroyed it in the process. I finally found a replacement that cost me $60.00! I then had to take a grinding stone in a drill to hone out the pin mounting-hole. If it works, don't fix it. Just don't use the top 2 holes.

Thanks Zane & zg I appreciate your replys! That's what makes this a great board. I guess I will relist my purchase on ebay! It seemed like a do at the time, but who needs torches and stress when two bolts & nuts will accomplish the same result! Thanks again,
Arthur
