I recently purchased an 8n and I noticed the radiator cap was really lose. So I purchesed another from a local TSC and the new one fits the same as the old one, are they supposed to be lose or do I need a new radiator.

You need to fix it but replacing the radiator might not be necessary. I have had to straighten out the opening in the radiator. The opening will be round ok but not flat and the part that is bent down around the outside gets deformed and won't engage the tabs on the cap properly. That's soft metal and can be worked back into shape. An 8" piece of 2x4 can be used to beat it back into shape. Tap, tap, tap to square it up.
You can compare to your everyday vehicle's radiator opening to see what it should look like.
