Hi All,

I still haven’t gotten my FO-19 manual yet so I have a few questions regarding my Jubilee project. I got the motor and transmission pulled this weekend. When I started to pull the head on the engine I couldn’t get the rocker-arm oil tube that goes down through the head into the block to pull out, thus I couldn’t pull the head. It looks like it goes down into the center cam-bearing journal where it apparently gets oil pressure to lubricate the rocker-arm assembly. It will rotate but it doesn’t seem to want to pull out. Maybe I need to pull a little harder.

Secondly, I am ready to disassemble the transmission to remove the broken gears. I need some advice on removing the upper shifter rod and fork. It seems to me that once you loosen the lock-screw the rod slides out of the fork and out the backside of the housing. Is this correct?

So far I haven’t found any major casting cracks or damage. In fact, the inside of the housings look a lot better than the outside.

I have tried the electrolysis process to remove some of the rust and grime on the sheet metal and it seems to work pretty well. It is amazing how much you can learn on this great N-board.

Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks guys,

I pulled a little harder and it came right out. I haven't tinkered with the transmission shift rale anymore. I believe there is some rust and corrosion preventing the shift-fork rod from comming out eaisly. Thanks.

The oil tube has a rubber ring on the end that will hang in the block, especially if there is crud in the way. There should only be the retainer clip on top to be removed. Having said that, just pull harder.
